Desert Botanical Garden will host the 2nd Annual Conservation Celebration luncheon to benefit the Central Arizona Conservation Alliance (CAZCA) initiative.

This year’s focus is Connecting Kids with Nature. Special guest speaker is Juan Martinez (right). Juan was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles where he directed the Sierra Club’s first environmental justice youth leadership academy.

Today, Juan leads the Children & Nature Network’s Natural Leaders initiative, a network of diverse young leaders working to increase equitable access to nature in their communities. As an ambassador for The North Face, National Geographic Explorer and TED speaker, Juan travels across the national empowering young people to explore nature and advocate for conservation.

Event chairs for the luncheon are Martha Hunter-Henderson and Pam Hait.
