Personal Statement

Currently, I lead the Desert Botanical Garden’s Seeds of Success collection team. It is my job to ensure that we are following protocol in order to acquire as much genetic variation as possible while maintaining the integrity of wild populations. For my master’s thesis, I am studying the effects of fire on plant community composition in the Arizona Uplands of the Sonoran Desert. I am also the coordinating botanist for the floristic inventory at Cave Creek Regional Park as part of a bigger effort by the Central Arizona Conservation Alliance to get baseline data for the parks and preserves in the Phoenix metro area.
