What is In Bloom at The Desert Botanical Garden?

Phoenix, AZ –It is that time of year … flowers are blooming and what a better place to check them out then the Desert Botanical Garden. This is your weekly list of what is blooming in the Valley and in the Garden. Be sure to visit the Garden. It is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

In Bloom the Week of February 27

Yucca faxoniana, commonly called Great White Yucca

Native to West Texas around Big Bend National Park and northern Mexico, this plant blooms in spring. It’s a large dramatic plant that can be found in Berlin Agave Yucca Forest at the Garden.

 

 

 

Aloe thraskii

Native to South Africa, this colorful flower blooms in late winter through early spring and can be found in the Sybil B. Harrington Cactus and Succulent Galleries at the Garden.

 

 

 

Barberis haematocarpa, commonly called desert holly or desert barberry 

Native to Southwest United States, this blooms in late winter and early spring and can be found off the main trail of the Desert Botanical Garden near Stardust Foundation Plaza.
