Tapa means lid. In old Spain, innkeepers would place a crust of stale bread on top of beverage glasses to keep the flies out. Later, some creative Andalusians added toppings of tasty morsels to those lids of bread, and tapas were born. When tapas finally migrated to North America, the fabulous tastes and complexities of Spanish foods were snapped up in tapas bars across the country. Join us at the Garden as we nibble our way through several tasty offerings that will inspire you to lay out a smorgasbord and invite your friends.
