From the mineral riches of Arizona's natural resources to the diverse minerals coveted by collectors, explore the geology of the Sonoran Desert through the building blocks of rocks and minerals. Why are some minerals shiny and some dull? Why are some common and some considered precious stones? Through lecture and hands-on investigation, learn about mineral formation and the basic geologic skills needed to identify various minerals and understand their unique natural properties.
