Description
Chile? Chilly? Chili? When Christopher Columbus first encountered these fiery fruits, he called them peppers because of their spicy heat. The name stuck. Chili peppers have been a staple of the human diet in the Americas for almost 10,000 years. There are five domesticated species and more than 20 other wild species, with hundreds of varieties and cultivars. It is said they can ward off evil or tame inflammation, and they are used in every important cuisine on the planet. The pods of some of them are the hottest things on the planet, too. Join us to learn about the more popular culinary varieties and how to cook with them.
