Arizona has an unusually great diversity of breeding species—many wintering raptors from farther north—and is located on a major migration corridor for birds of prey heading south in the fall. This program will explore the ecological diversity and adaptations of Arizona hawks, eagles, kites and falcons. Techniques for identifying these birds, often seen in flight and at a distance, will also be discussed. As part of the training, a field trip is included and transportation is provided.
