Beetles of the order Coleoptera constitute the largest group of insects on the earth, representing a quarter of all living organisms and a third of all animals. Learn why beetles are such a big success story, while creating a work of art. Select, draw and paint your own Sonoran Desert beetle collection using watercolor, colored pencil, pen and ink or graphite, and discover how to create iridescence using interference paint. If you have taken this class before, several new beetles will be featured and can be added to your collection. Click here to download required materials list.
