The 1815 eruption of Mount Tambora in Indonesia affected the entire world, erupting volcanic ash into the atmosphere and causing a year without a summer. Known as the largest and deadliest volcanic eruption recorded in history, the explosion was heard more than 1,200 miles away and resulted in climatic abnormalities that caused massive crop and agricultural failures worldwide.
