Volunteers in the Garden

Volunteers In The Garden

Members of the Volunteers In The Garden (VIG) play a vital role in the operation of the Desert Botanical Garden, a non-profit museum dedicated to research, education, conservation and display of desert plants.

VIG assist in nearly every aspect of the Garden - over 20 different volunteer programs.  Each volunteer goes through an intensive program of education and training.  During the training program and throughout their volunteer experience, VIG have many opportunities to meet others with similar interests.  Upon completion of their training, volunteers continue their education through ongoing programs.

The commitment of members of the VIG is small compared to the rewards of volunteering.  Prospective volunteers must first become members of the Desert Botanical Garden.  Volunteers then commit to participation in at least one volunteer program including all required orientation and trainings.

As the Garden mission states, volunteers help “ensure that the Garden is always a compelling attraction that brings to life the many wonders of the desert.”
