Want to share the mission of the Desert Botanical Garden with visitors from all over the world, learn how to garden in the desert, meet new people, gain new skills and information, and even work behind the scenes in a stunningly beautiful setting?

- Step 2: Schedule an Interview: Please contact 480-481-8197 or email nwhite@dbg.org to schedule an informational 30-minute interview. We will cover opportunities, training requirements and answer your questions.
- Step 3: Attend the 4-hour "How to Become a DBG Volunteer" class. This is a mandatory course to become a Volunteer in the Garden. There is a $20 fee covering lunch and course materials.
- Step 4: Become a Member: Volunteers in the Garden take part in every aspect of the institution's growth. Therefore, we do require that volunteers join and maintain membership at whatever level they choose.
- Step 5: Attend classes at Volunteer U: After completion of "How to Become a DBG Volunteer" class, Volunteers in Training - (VITs) - begin training for specific jobs through courses offered at Volunteer U. Training courses are offered multiple times throughout the year and can be taken weekdays or weekends to best fit your schedule.
- Teens (ages 12 - 17) can volunteer as individuals or bring their group and participate in TARGET Kids' Corner. Volunteers work on Saturday or Sunday (multiple shifts are available) and earn credit for community service. Teens are not required to attend the "How to" course or become a Garden member in order to volunteer.
