Explore the Desert Botanical Garden’s Virtual Habitat

Here you will discover why the Sonoran Desert is such an extraordinary place. In these interactive desert scenes, investigate unique desert plants, interesting animals, and the dramatic change in seasons.

The Sonoran Desert has two rainy seasons, one in winter and one in summer. This creates unique conditions which allow many different types of plants and animals to live and thrive here, especially compared to other North American deserts. Learn about these plants and animals in the Virtual Habitat, then come and see many of them in person at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix, Arizona.
