Come surround yourself with hundreds of live monarchs at Mariposa Monarca. This engaging exhibit features interpretive displays about the life cycle and migration patterns of the monarch butterfly, and the environmental threats and conservation efforts it faces. Butterfly Tag and Release
Migration of the monarch butterfly is one of the world’s greatest phenomena. Millions of these delicate creatures fly great distances to over wintering sites that they themselves have never visited. The most important method of tracking the migration is through tagging. The Garden is pleased to partner with the Southwest Monarch Study to tag and release butterflies each Thursday. Come join us at 1:30 pm on the following dates:
Reservations can be made by calling 480 481.8188. There is no additional charge for tagging for the general public with paid Garden admission. The tagging is limited to 50 participants each week. |
