Dogs’ Day in the Garden

The Garden has gone to the dogs! Take advantage of this special opportunity to bring the whole family, dogs included, to the Garden. Spend time in the “doghouse” with vendors sampling the best dog food and treats. Sit and listen to special presentations geared toward dog lovers and owners. Go for a walk on Garden trails, heel for family photo opportunities, and participate in a kids craft activity. Don’t miss this tail-wagging good time!

  • Included with paid Garden admission. Become a member today for unlimited annual admission.
  • Member admission is free and must show Member ID to be admitted.
  • Dog admission $4.00 each. Proceeds from dog admission fee benefit Arizona Humane Society.

  • Binns Wildflower Pavilion
    • 9:30 a.m., 10:15 a.m., 11 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. : Doga (Dog Yoga) - Conscious Community Yoga
      Join us for an interactive yoga class that’s doggone relaxing. This 20 minute yoga class for you and your dog is the perfect start to your morning! Mats will be provided for fido and guests. Classes are first come, first served, as space is limited.
  • Boppart Courtyard 
    • 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. - DJ Tro playing family friendly music
    • Bark Park
  • Kitchell Patio
    • 10:30 - 11 a.m.  - PetTech Desert Dog Safety / Malinda, Malinda’s Pampered Pets: Basic tips for keeping your dog safe on desert walks
    • 11:30 a.m.- 12 p.m. - Introducing a New Puppy to the Pack / Arizona Humane Society: How to make a smooth transition with a household addition
    • 12:15 p.m.- 12:45 p.m. - Answers to Most Frequently Asked Questions / Arizona Humane Society: Spay and neuter facts and myths, trap-neuter-return for cats, and more
    • 1 - 1:30 p.m. - Pets Making a Difference / Pets on Wheels of Scottsdale: Hear how therapy visitation dogs have brightened lives
  • Dorrance Hall
    • 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. Hands on activity.
    • Local artists, businesses and nonprofits will have information, free samples, and dogcentric items for sale.


Food and beverages will be available for purchase at Boppart Courtyard and the Patio Café.



Fine Print

  • All dogs must be on a leash and remain on marked trails at all times.
  • All dogs must be up-to-date on all vaccinations and registrations.
  • Handlers are required to pick up after their dogs and properly disposed of their waste.
  • Desert Botanical Garden reserves the right to refuse entry to or remove any dog thought to be dangerous to other dogs or visitors.
  • Dogs will only be admitted to the Garden between the hours of 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
  • Dogs will not be allowed in the Butterfly Pavilion, Gertrude’s, or Garden Shop.
  • Programming subject to change.
