Young children discover the wonders of the desert alongside their caregiver in our nature-based preschool program guided by caring and experienced teachers. We use music, stories, arts and crafts, nature walks, movement, touch and observation to explore a new theme each week.

The Seedlings program is in full swing for the spring and will be back open for fall registration in early September. For a sneak peek of the program take a look at the images captured by our volunteer photographer, Mary Versosky.

Until then, we have a great Summer Camp program for 4 to 6 year olds. We’ll be exploring the Sonoran sun and desert plants alongside enthusiastic Garden staff and volunteers.

How to Read a Plant Label

As a place of education, research, exhibition and conservation of desert plants, the Garden provides information about plants using many different techniques. One of these methods is through labels. These labels provide the Latin name used by the scientific community, its common name, where it grows and when it blooms.

You can customize your Garden experience further by downloading the Garden app. It includes trail guides, maps, garden tour, plant information and pictures, and a learning center that helps you care for your plants at home. You can download the app through iTunes or Google Play for 99 cents.

The Garden app was developed by Clarisoft & MuseumXP and Garden staff members.
